Our commitment

Accessibility Statement

AAISA's redesign is built to be usable by everyone.

AAISA serves a sector built on inclusion — this website aims to reflect that. This redesign targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA and was built with accessibility as a design requirement, not an afterthought.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a skip-to-content link
  • Keyboard support throughout: dropdowns, accordions, the mobile menu (Escape to close), and visible focus indicators
  • Colour contrast checks on text, buttons, and chips against their backgrounds
  • Form labels, required-field marks, inline error messages, and aria-invalid states
  • aria-expanded / aria-controls on all expandable controls
  • Touch targets of at least 44×44 pixels in navigation and forms
  • Text scales with the browser's zoom and font-size settings; layouts reflow at 320px without horizontal scrolling
  • Motion is subtle and fully disabled under prefers-reduced-motion

Land Acknowledgement
