AAISA advocates for policies that advance equity, inclusion, and improved outcomes for newcomers in Alberta. Our research, collaboration, and engagement with stakeholders guide our work, and we ensure that we bring the voices of newcomer-serving agencies and communities to decision-makers.

Our goal is to influence systems change and ensure that newcomers are supported by responsive, just, and effective policies. Here, you'll find examples of our advocacy work that aim to strengthen the settlement and integration sector.

Each year, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance and the Department of Finance hold pre-budget consultations. AAISA's submission sets out sector priorities for the federal budget.

Land Acknowledgement

In the spirit of respect and truth, AAISA acknowledges the land on which we do our work. We acknowledge the remarkable endurance, strength and resiliency of the traditional stewards of these lands. AAISA serves diverse people across of the Treaty 4, 6, 7, 8 and 10 regions and all 21 Districts of the Métis Nation of Alberta. AAISA honours these relationships and the historical and ongoing stewardship of these lands by Indigenous Peoples in all our endeavours across the province.
